Record wildlife

We've changed how we record wildlife!

We switched to using iNaturalist!

Please download the iNaturalist app from their site to record trees, plants, animals, insects — anything you observe in the S13 green belt!

We chose iNaturalist because it connects citizen scientists with experts to document biodiversity, contributing valuable wildlife data for open research and conservation.

The app automatically geotags your observations and uses AI to suggest species and related groups for identification.

How to use iNaturalist
iNaturalist is easy to use - don't worry if these instructions sound complicated

1️⃣ Download and install the app.

2️⃣ Create an account and log in.

3️⃣ Watch this great 90 second YouTube tutorial on how to use it:

4️⃣There's also very detailed iNaturalist documentation on recording observations

Join our project

Once you're setup, join our iNaturalist project.

We've created an iNaturalist project to gather all information on S13 automatically in one place.

You can see it at Beaver and Bramley Greenbelt including Shirtcliffe Woodland.

Join the project in the app - lots of observations are already there.

🎉 Most of all, don't forget to have fun recording wildlife in S13!
